Change is in the Air

Here is our latest project, a skirt for Erik's little sister Hailey. When we finished the skirt, Hailey found that it was a little hard to walk in, hence the birth of the shorter skirt! I love that we can change the entirety of the skirt on a whim!

Pastalishis

Here is the creation Erik and I made today in the kitchen. I just couldn't take the endless demand for pancakes, so we had a happy compromise, cooking. This was actually quite an easy pasta. We just diced up a tomato, and added some pesto sauce, salt a pepper, and BAM there was a delicious pasta waiting for us!

Getting to Know the Real You

Yes Here he is Erik Thomas Knudsen! He is a force, yes a force that cannot be stopped! Here is a little peak into the world of Erik.

This is a picture of Erik's infamous wizard finger.

Here is a close up.

This is Erik dancing. Please take note of the blurriness. That is because his awesomeness is blinding you!

Behind the Scenes

It had occurred to me that those of you who do not know Erik very well might not get the full appreciation for his wizard finger or Kenmore. So in light of that, here are some pictures to help paint the scene of the miraculous sewing process. The sewing machine is our beloved Kenmore. It might look old in stature but has been our faithful friend from the beginning. We have had some ruff times together where we had to bring in an ally, the handbook. We have all become dear friends and have thus far worked out all of our problems.

Best of Both Worlds

This represents best of both worlds because we got to sew and it is used for cooking, two of Erik's very favorite things! Originally This apron was meant to be my Halloween costume, I was going to be Penny from Hairspray (without the pink fabric of course). But alas i missed the deadline and so we turned it into an apron. After that project Erik was getting antsy, hence the matching hot pads!

Dress of Tessa

This dress that we made was a special order from my old roommate Tessa. The blue dress that we had made was to get out all of the kinks before making this dress. She had to come over for several fittings, I know we are so professional! This one didn't have as many problems as our projects usually do so that was good. Maybe Erik and I will have a career in this yet, no one can stop the wizzard fingure!

Second Try

This is the next picture that I tried. But this time things went a little differently. The class was over when i started this picture, so i had no guidence at all on it. I realized that i really missed having the company when i was working on it of the other woman that were working on their own at the same time. This one also went a lot faster too. I finished this one within a week (which doesn't sound that fast, but compared to the other one it is like a lip flapping roller coaster to a snail stuck on a lolly pop).

Dressed to Impress

Here is one of the many dresses that Erik and I have embarked on. This one was kind of a refresher course for me. It had been a while since we had used a zipper foot. Note the lack of sleeves, it is because i have sever problems when i try to make them. Every time without fail something always goes wrong. So i just put some straps on it and claim that is how I meant to make it. I think after the 37th time I wasn't fooling anyone anymore.

New beginnings

I had taken a charcoal class with Eriks grandmother and a couple of other ladies. It was so much fun! I made a discovery that i love love love charcoal! This is a picture of my undeniably adorable nephew Parker. For the class we took in one picture that we wanted to do and we worked on it for the whole span of the class. It is very interesting how each persons personality would come out when they were doing art. One woman was very critical of herself, one was very queen to detail, some worked fast and others worked slow. I think that in each piece of art, there is a piece of the artist instilled in it.

Christmas Bliss

For Christmas Erik and I decided to do a very special project. We made stockings for all of my roommates. There was six of us, so there was plenty of sewing to do which definitaly made Erik happy. We had a misshap here and there, which is always the case when we sew, but they turned out very good overall. Eriks grandmother had a embroidering machine, so we stiched all of our names on our stockings. Each of the roommates put one present in each stocking to fill them up. I put chocolate bars in them. It seemed like a good thing to do, who doesn't like a good chocolate bar? If you note the fire place they are hanging above which was lit many times during the holiday season, yes those things get very hot, hot enough to melt even the best chocolate bars. So when we opened the bars instead of finding a nice firm beautifully shaped chocolate bar, there was just mush instead. Good thing they still taste the same no matter if it is the a solid or a liquid. I don't think it would taste as good in gas form...

First Timers!

Yes, it has come down to this. Most of the people on Eriks emailing list have not met his expectations of emailing 47 times a day, so we have resorted to this. Yes, this blog will be our faithful friends and there will always be something new to do on it every time that we check it. We ask you, you faithful blogger comrades, to please make as many comments as you please. When in doubt just post, that the rule of thumb we live by. We are intendind to use this blog to display all of the crafts that we have been doing, which is not a small number. For those of who know Erik personally, you will know that he is not satisfied until his wizard fingure is firmly over the foot pedal of the sewing machine. Thanks to all of you in advance for becoming out long blogging friends!
